RIB CostX - Advanced

This RIB CostX Advanced course aims to build on the knowledge learnt in the RIB CostX Fundamentals course. It will inform and demonstrate the principles of Zone Categories and Zones, Rate Libraries, and Coding & Sorting using RIB CostX.

This Advanced course builds on foundational skills to deliver expertise in structured estimating workflows, enabling professionals to manage complex projects with precision and efficiency. This program focuses on three advanced capabilities: Zone Management, Rate Libraries, and Coding & Sorting, all critical for high-level cost planning and reporting.

Key Learning Outcomes:

• Zones & Workbooks: Learn to segment projects into logical zones for detailed analysis, enabling accurate allocation of quantities and costs across building sections or phases. Apply zones within workbooks to streamline cost plans and client reporting.
• Rate Libraries & Maintenance: Master the creation, use, and upkeep of rate libraries for consistent pricing across projects. Explore advanced functions such as location-based adjustments, exporting/importing templates, and generating workbooks from dimension groups for rapid cost breakdowns.
• Coding & Sorting: Gain proficiency in coding structures to organise data by trade, resource type, or custom classifications. Perform advanced coding exercises, including LPM (Labour, Plant, Material) and resource analysis, to support robust reporting and benchmarking.

By completing this course, learners will confidently apply advanced CostX features to optimise estimating workflows, maintain data integrity, and deliver transparent, client-ready outputs. Each module aligns with CPD objectives, reinforcing professional competency in digital cost management for complex projects.
